Benefits
Choosing a polished concrete solutions helps your facility meet LEED benchmarks to achieve recognition as a high performance green building. It also credits toward USGB’s “Triple Bottom Line”.

Aesthetically Pleasing
A variety of appearances can be achieved through the polishing process, from honed, semi-polished to a highly polished surface that has a high clarity of reflection and a glass like finish. Additional enhancements range from decorative saw cut patterns to the application of stains in a broad spectrum of colors, all of custom tailored to the project at hand.

Permanent Flooring Solutions
Performance and appearance will retain greater consistency throughout the life of the surface because, unlike other finishes that rely on topical coatings, the concrete polishing process exposes and enhances the strength and durability inherent to the concrete.

Low Maintenance
Without superficial coatings, concrete polishing leaves you with a product that resists stains and does not peel, chip or flake over time, making regular maintenance simple while saving time and money.

Energy Reduction
Polishing concrete to a higher shine increases the efficiency of installed lighting, reducing energy demands.

Eliminates Dusting and Particulate Debris
The diamond polishing and densification process eliminates the dust associated with unprocessed concrete and particles of chipping paints and epoxies that result from the wear of traditional floor coatings.

No Loss of Business
The processes can be performed so that there is no loss of business while the process is being performed.

Abrasion Resistant
Densifiers applied during the concrete polishing process increase the durability of the surface as a result the finished surface resists scratches and abrasions.

Reduces Wear on Warehouse Equipment
Processed Concrete reduces micro-vibrations and tire ware on warehouse equipment.

Ambient Lighting Increases
Concrete increases ambient light reflection by up to 100%? That means greater visibility, fewer overhead lights, a higher safety factor and a shine that can't be beat. Of course, the level of shine and the reflective properties are up to you.

Slip Coefficient
Safety professionals refer to the Co-efficient of Friction (COF) as the quantitative number that measures the degree of slip resistance a floor exhibits. The COF is usually measured from a resting position and is officially called the Static Co-efficient of Friction (SCOF). Although it can also be measured when the surfaces are in relative motion (Dynamic Co-efficient of Friction), this is relatively difficult.

A surface becomes less slippery as the SCOF number gets higher. The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) initially set a guideline of 0.50 SCOF or higher for polished surface and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recommends a 0.50 SCOF for flat surfaces.
